Steam Market:

This can be interesting for people who'd like to make some $$$ Steam (Wallet) on the Steam Community Market. Assuming that trading cards are sold ~ 0,50€/each this could get quite profitable and even more $$$ with foil cards!

Steam trading cards value: Steam Community Market :: Showing results for: "cards"

What are Foil Trading Cards?
There is no extra benefit to having foil cards or foil badges aside from their rarity.

Foil cards have a significant increased $$$ value: Steam Community Market :: Showing results for: "foil"

Is there a limit to how many trading cards can drop?
Most games will drop a number of cards equal to about half of the number of cards in that game's set of cards. For example, Half-Life 2 has 8 cards in its set, you can receive 4 card drops by playing it. You'll need to collect the other half of the set from other community members. You can check how many drops you have remaining on your badges page.

Which games drop trading cards?

There's a complete list of participating games available on the Steam Store.

Not receiving game card drops in Dota 2 or Team Fortress 2:

Because Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2 are free to play games, they use a slightly different mechanism for dropping cards. Please read the FAQ. If you have not spent money in the Dota 2 in-game store, you will not have any card drops available.

Source: Known Issues - READ FOR DOTA 2 :: Steam Trading Cards Group

What about free to play games like Team Fortress 2 or Dota 2?
Free to play games drop game cards based on your in-game purchasing. For every $9 USD spent (approximate) since the start of the Steam Trading Card Beta, you will earn one card drop. This card will drop at some point as you play. If you have made in-game purchases in Dota 2 or Team Fortress 2 prior to the Steam Trading Card Beta, or if you owned Team Fortress 2 prior to the Free to Play update, you will have 4 or 5 additional card drops available.

You'll need to collect a set of foil cards in order to craft them into a foil badge. There is no extra benefit to having foil cards or foil badges aside from their rarity.

except its value ($$$). Steam Community Market :: Showing results for: "foil"

Based ot the droplimit i would say that this method is not that effective.

I tested it you get the drops from the regular games in about 4 Hours so that time you could play anywys.

Also based on that limit its technicaly not even really farming because your restricted to such few cards right now.

Drops are limited anyway.

That was the point of the guide, so you can farm cards in the background while doin something usefull like playing TF2 :D

"-textmode" does not req. a graphics card Urban Dictionary: afaik

Use -dxlevel 90, then launch game, and close game, then delete that -dxlevel 90 and thats all

-dvlevel is now removed since some people having problems with it.

1.) New games have been added:

Which games drop trading cards?

The following games are currently part of the Steam Trading Cards Beta:

Steam Community :: Steam Trading Cards

2.) Good news:

"The other change we've made is removing the Level 10 minimum requirement to get Foil Trading Cards - all users have an equal chance now."

3.) Added a new way of launching the game without the need of editing. Everything is now automaticlly! :Big-Grin:

... & updated guide a bit.

If you actived it on steam, yes if not no

Depends on the game, with dota 2 and TF2 the cards are dropped depending on how much you have spent however in other games such as left for dead 2 you can technical get infinite using this method, please remember using this method is the same as "running" the game however it dose it using text and automatically plays for you making it much less of a strain on your pc

If you have reached the maximum drop rate, you can't find new cards.

With some exceptions.

Best thing is, you find cards in other games nd you sell them over the community marked.

With the money you got, you can buy the cards you need.

It's basicly giving up 1 game set, to get one full set of another game.

1 card ~0,30€ most sets needs 8 cards.

So you pay around 2,40€ to create a badge or gain a level of this badge.

There are 5 levels per badge, so you pay ~ 12,00 € for a level 5 badge, you can find 4 cards for free

so you need to pay ~10,80€ for one level 5 Badge.

So people that have 5 Level 5 Badges had paid ~54,00€ and are propably level 20 - 24.
